Walking in Sunshine™ Premium spray tanning solutions just £39.99 including shipping and vat!

Walking in Sunshine™ is delighted to announce that we’ve launched our own premium spray tan solutions line for spray tanning professionals- March 2012.

The spray tan solution range, which is suitable for application by airbrush and HVLP turbine as well as by hand, isn’t just a generic white label product with our name attached. In fact on investigation of many cheap spray tanning solutions we found we were less than impressed with some of the ingredients. So we’ve had our spray tan range especially formulated, using top quality ingredients which are chosen for their skin-friendly qualities. What’s more, unlike some spray tan solutions, our formula penetrates deep into the stratum corneum (the top layer of the skin), rather than just coating the surface. So that means a longer lasting tan.

Each 1 litre bottle comes with ten quality marketing flyers and are double sided- printed on quality 135 gsm gloss, coloured paper, which technicians hand to their clients. Walking in sunshine™ is used by Dance Academy's, Top Modelling Agencies, Colleges, Salons, Home Salons and Home Users.

    Safer ingredients

We’re proud to say that our formulation is paraben-free. Neither does it contain formaldehyde donors such as DMDM Hydantoin, Bronopol or Imidazolidinyl urea. It has Eco-cert DHA, is free of alcohol and hasn’t been tested on animals. It is also free of walnut extract, making it safer for nut allergy sufferers, and our scent is allergen-free, so there’s a reduced skin irritation potential. We also comply with all requirements of the EU Cosmetics Directive.

    The Walking in Sunshine™ range

    Beaming Beauty 10%- medium

Beaming Beauty gives a sun-kissed glow which is suited to a natural skin tone with a slight colour. This tone is best suited to those who would like the finished, developed result to be more noticeable, but not over-accentuated against their natural tone. It achieves a beautiful medium tan that is suited to most people’s skin types and preferences.

DHA is the ingredient which produces the sunless tan. It develops over a recommended period of time and is the key to the depth of the tan. Unlike our solution, some products contain poor quality DHA, and many of their ingredients are in such tiny quantities that they’d need to be added daily to have any active effect.

Oils can clog the skin and act as a barrier to the spray tan solution, so they’re not an ideal ingredient for the DHA to work with. Alcohol is known to irritate skin, as well as dry it out. This can cause snake-like skin, often known as an orange-peel appearance, and also causes premature patching, fading and cracking. Walking in Sunshine™ spray tan range is free of these ingredients.

It’s worth noting, for your own benefit, that the ingredients in a spray tan solution are listed on the bottle in descending order of volume: the first ingredient listed is present in the highest quantity. Most spray tanning solutions should be made up of 80% water, 10% DHA and 10% other ingredients. Ingredients contributing less than 1% can be listed in any order. Any solution that doesn’t list its ingredients on the bottle is breaking the law.

    Walking in Sunshine™ added ingredients:

Erythrulose: We add Erythrulose to our tanning solutions as it takes away the orange appearance that some DHA-alone tans can produce. It’s also known to attract moisture into the skin, which will result in a longer lasting sunless tan, and in turn counteract skin dryness, which prolongs the natural fading process. Erythrulos is a natural product.

Quillaja: The bark of a native tree from Chile is used because of its surfactant properties. It’s used industrially in cosmetics and cosmetic applications for its antifungal and antibacterial properties. Quillaja also has an emollient effect, which means it leaves the external layers of the skin much softer. Our solutions leave the skin feeling like silk.

Prolylene glycol and glycerin: Ingredients commonly used in medical, pharmaceutical and personal care preparations, mainly as a means of improving smoothness. Sensitive and easily irritated skin benefits from these ingredients, because they help prevent skin dryness thanks to their moisturising properties. The moisture they attract to the skin slows down the evaporation rate and prevents excessive drying. They are also essential to help the DHA to function at its best.

Vitamin E: Of all the vitamins on the market which help diminish the signs of aging, vitamin E is seen as one of the strongest and is used extensively in the skin care industry for its reputed benefits. Its principal role as an antioxidant is the elimination of free radicals - molecules that can contribute to aging and tissue damage.

Aloe vera: A plant widely renowned for its healing abilities, aloe vera contains a wide range of minerals, amino acids and vitamins that are essential to the human body. It’s intensively nourishing and moisturising, safeguarding your sunless tan.
These are six of our ingredients, all of which support each other to nourish the skin and prolong the sunless tan.. Professional spray tan technicians and home users can use Walking in Sunshine™ spray tan solutions.

Our spray tan solutions have a pleasant colour guide, with no orange tones. They’re not overloaded with dye to give a false impression of an immensely dark spray tan on first application. Any bronzer is just a guide to achieve an even application, and will wash off during bathing; the developed tan underneath is the true end result.

We feel that all our solutions complement all natural skin tones, from the very pale to the naturally dark. It’s worth noting that scientifically, skin cannot cope with a tan solution that has a higher percentage than 12%, because the higher levels of DHA can affect the skin’s absorption capacity. However we realise that some clients want a noticeably darker tan, and that’s why we formulated Darkening Drops, which you can add to your solution to achieve the required level.

On average a spray tan costs £15.00 and you should get approximately 16 tans from a- 1 litre bottle, depending on the application and equipment used (I've averaged 60ml of spray tan solution- per spray tan, to get the 16 tans per bottle. Each 1 litre bottle (1000ml) should earn you £240.00. If you use more or less than 60ml per tan, then divide your "ml" amount- by 1000, to get your amount of tans you will get per litre bottle!

Further information; selecting the right tan tone percentage

A good rule to follow is to select a spray tanning colour tone based on the natural colour of the skin.

Some fair-skinned clients may not want their result from a spray tan to be dark, If this is the case it would be best to spray with a lighter DHA percentage, probably 7-9%.

A client who has a slight colour to their natural skin would look best with a medium tan tone percentage, probably 9-11%.

A client with a naturally darker skin would be best suited to a 11-12% tan tone and even above.

You really do need to discuss what end result both client or yourself requires and know the product you’re using very well.

You should keep in mind too that if you use a DHA with a percentage that’s too high for the natural skin tone, it might end up with a tan that will wear off in a noticeably uneven and patchy way. Applying too much DHA to a fair-skinned person can look orange after a couple of days.

There are many spray tanning solutions on the market today, ranging from 6% right through to 16% and more, and knowing your product and the results it gives for most skin types, will only come after lots of experience.

It is essential to nourish and hydrate your skin in order to maintain the life of your spray tan, so selecting a solution with ingredients that promote those processes, will benefit the tan.
